This is from some time ago now but that's basically where I've gotten to. It would probably be better with a UBLOX gps instead of the mediatek which is all we had at the time.

Jeff, were you trying to hover, or were you trying to fly it around? If that was you hovering, then you must be having the same problem the rest of us have.

If you look at my video, you should see what to expect. It'll hover hands off, just with the wind pushing it around or a tiny tiny bit of drift. When I took my hands off, that's not Loiter.
Permalink Reply by Kenneth Bailey on August 13, 2012 at 10:42am Being that I my self had a hard time finding any video's on youtube for the APM-Helicopters, could we possibly figure out a way to post these and make it easy to find.
I think a lot of us out here want to use APM's on our heli's but with out video's proving its working well, none wants to take the leap.
I honestly believe it would bring more into the fold of APM Helicopter flying.
Your thoughts ?
Ken

I agree, but I honestly hesitate to recommend to other people to try it at this point. Don't get me wrong, I want people to get involved and help develop it. But I don't find it works consistently enough that I'm going to tell somebody this thing is plug and play, that would be misleading.
That video was my best performance. Then a couple flights later it tipped over and crashed for no obvious reason. So I don't want to put it out there and say "This is how good it works." Rather "This is how good it works, on a good day."
