Long story short, I was recently possessed by the urge to build a UAV. I have limited experience with programming and have looked at the sample Arduino codes. I think that part I can handle to a certain degree. The issue I'm having is simply understanding what all I need to buy for step 1.
Strangely enough, I want to start working on this without a plane! I just want to get an ArduPilot, some servos, and some good practice with programming them. Then, piece by piece, I want to begin building the full autopilot and once I understand everything I need to about it, I want to get an airframe to cram it all into.
So my first question is just this:
In order to be able to control servos via an ArduPilot, what do I need to buy? I'd like to toy around with connecting a video camera too
Obviously ArduPilot, servo cables, servos, video camera, and here's where I begin to get unsure. Do I need an FTDI cable, ArduShield, what kind of connectors do I need and do I need a battery for what I want to work on at the moment?
