help

Does anybody know if you can make a cheaper alternate than buying a stabiliser for a canon (which is like £600), this will be attached to a drone. (octocopter) I would like it to create a smooth picture while flying. Could you please list the equipment to buy and explain how it works.

Many Thanks

  • The heart of any modern gimbal is the controller, which these days is usually the open source Alexmos or similar variants.

These can be had for around $45.

Next you want 2 (for a 2 axis) very low Kv brushless motors, usually sold as gimbal motors. Shop around as prices vary from super cheap to way to expensive.

Lastly, just make up a frame with whatever materials you are handy with.
