Hey,

I have these motors  http://store.jdrones.com/product_p/ac2836358.htm

with these props  http://store.jdrones.com/product_p/ac1245bl.htm

i've read the instructions on props install,

but the washer/spacer they put there inside the prop (seems like the 2nd biggest of the set) doesnt even fit the threaded shaft.

the problem as described in the following pictures....

please advise !

read your linked thread again, there is an aluminium piece that fits right on the shaft

i know.

i use it,

just took the picture without it to show that the thicker part of the shaft (not threaded) it thicker and blocks the prop...

Did you insert the best fitting plastic ring adapter then use a Metric prop reamer to cut the hole to the proper size?

why would you need to do this. the props should fit as purchased without having the added cost of the reamer.

I thought that too.

Then I bought the reamer and it all made sense and the props fit perfectly.

my point was that some people might not have the access to getting that or having to wait extra time if they can find out where to order one from.

only other comment is that how tight is the fit on the inner alum piece to the prop bore. if its a tight slip fit to control runnout or keep it to a min then this might need a comment for people to assemble there parts. if a mistake is made here your going to have run-out/balance problems that cant be balanced out. this is a really important area that cant be understated.

I had the same issue. I didn't want to wait, so I bought one at the local hobby shop for 12 bucks.

Just be sure to get a metric one. They have inch ones for older gas engine shafts.

OK, i see it happened to more people, using the same motors and props from jDrones ??

the reamer i saw had 6mm, 7mm, 8mm and 10mm.

I just measured precisely the elements:

threaded shaft: 6.1mm

thicker part of the shaft - not threaded, seen on the second pic of the post :6.3mm

prop very inner hole: 6.17mm

from the measuring i learn that this thicker shaft is only 0.13mm thicker than the prop inner size,

that should easily fit with the prop being plastic.

i tried to push it hard on the shaft exactly like the second picture on the post, without the bottom aluminum 'base' locking part (just to see if it would go over the thicker part, and after applying some force it did.

i believe this needed force would be applied naturally when locking the prop hard with the spinner/locking part.

so problem solved.

the thing is that this is not using a ring.

the biggest ring has inner diameter of 7.95mm, the next one has of 5.95mm

ideally i should have a ring that is slightly bigger inner diameter than the prop one, 6.17mm up to the thicker shaft dia. 6.3mm.

i can drill the 5.95mm or any smaller ring to become 6.3mm, but the reamer doesn't have 6.3mm, only 6mm....

now, if the balancing/angle setting of the prop is done by the two aluminum bases of the two parts between which the prop is locked, i probably don't have to worry too much because it will ensure being parallel and at right angle....

Using a reamer you could destroy the perfect fit making the props run with bad imbalance.

Trust me; the propellers and that shim fits perfectly on the motor axle.

I prepared this description on mounting propellers. Is this how you do it ?

you skipped the steps on showing installing the inner shaft into the prop. there isnt any comment about what kind of fit to expect and what to do if the person assembling the parts excounters a problem. if more info is given then people might avoid problems.

you probably used a smaller shaft motor,

the thick ring that came with my props (2'nd thinnest) doesnt fit the threaded shaft at all !

but as i said - problem solved.

im not using any ring....
