hi guys i was wanting your oppinions on which way to go with my project i was thinking of making uav delta with 3 vetical takeoff motors and 1 horizontal forward going motors and want it to stay in postion continously at altitude of 500meters for at least a couple of weeks i no by them selves the batteries will never last that long but i was planning on using a permanent magnet alternator to keep some lifepo4 batteries topped up to susstain the length of the flight perhaps even solar do you guys think its possible or would be dreaming your oppinions will be appreciated

Permalink Reply by Martin Bellomo on July 30, 2012 at 9:11am Hovering takes to much energy, I think it is better to wait flying in circles or something like that.maybe a big wing filled with some gas to make upward force...
I want to see the flying wing stopping to hover and landing vertical...
Get you power source, and then build a solution with that power consumption limits.
