I would like to know how prefetch works ? I click prefetch button hold atl click on maps do download this maps after i don't know how can i reload this map downloaded when i don't have internet connection because prefetch settings permit to cache map data so you don't need Internet access at the field
I would like to known how to load my cache maps on fields where this is not internet connection on APM mega Planner
Do you you know how can i do that ?

1. prefetch just downloads the images to a cache. you just need to hold down alt and draw a box on the map, then click prefetch.
2. you can use python scripting in real flight, but you need a very reliable telemetry link. as it overrides your rc transmitter.
use with CAUTION

Permalink Reply by Sonia Kouassi Eba Kaudjhis on April 13, 2012 at 7:28pm we have a big problem with our ardupilot megaplanner. only 2 servo channels outputs works ( servo 2 and /) we think that the problem comes from microcontroller do you think it is beeter to replace with anoter ardupilot mega ? please give me your inputs
i think you would put your question on the ardupilot tech forum. depending on your hardware version it would be a mux issue, or something else.

Does Mission Planner first look for a live internet connection before looking for cached maps so that cached maps have a lower priority? Or do you need to delete the cache? Even if you don't need to delete the cached maps, how would you do so if you wanted to?
Thanks
to delete the cache, delete the gmapcache directory in the planner directory. the planner will recreate it.

If you want to cache maps somewhere else, such as on an external drive, is there an easy way to tell MP the path?
Thanks, Dan
jusy copy the gmapcache directory between the pc's, currently you cannot move it

I want to prefetch a very large are up to zoom level 18, and then some time later fetch a smaller subset of that area up to max zoom. Does MP replace what was already there or just fill in the gaps in the higher zoom levels?
Also, if I keep adding areas I don't already have, will the cache just keep growing infinitely or will MP reach a limit at some point? Or would it be better to keep separate cache folders for different locations and swap in the one I need at the time?
Thanks
