I have been considering the Contour+ Plus Camera for video and still photography from a quad.
The bullet camera has Bluetooth Enabled so you can use your iPhone or Android as a viewfinder as well.
They made the Contour+ the most connected POV camera ever. First up is Bluetooth, which provides filmmakers a wireless viewfinder to check the angle on their phone.
Question? What external transmitter would be needed to view your video from the quad while it is flying?
What cameras are others using and what results are you getting?
Thanks,
Gary

Permalink Reply by Wesley Chuen on May 4, 2012 at 7:57am I had a contour+ mounted on a heli awhile ago for recording video, but I can't find any video transmitter that would take HDMI output. Thereafter, I bought a GoPro HD Hero2 since it has a normal composite video output for video streaming via a video transmitter, while I can still record the video inside the unit in HD.
I've tried 2 transmitters. The first one was a 5.8Ghz 200mW one but it did not go far at all. It got to about 1000ft LOS and the video was lost, and then I lost the heli. Range test: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nio9JSwjnQA
I now have a 2W 900Mhz one but haven't have a chance to try it out yet. Still trying to get ArduCopter to work first.
Season Two of the Trust Time Trial (T3) Contest has now begun. The fourth round is an accuracy round for multicopters, which requires contestants to fly a cube. The deadline is April 14th.1296 members
