Has anyone experimented with a ArduCopter that can chase / track a signal transmitted from a moving object (car, person, etc)?  I'm trying to build one that would be capable of 40mph chase and quickly react to movements of the object transmitting the signal being tracked by the UAV.

All feedback welcome.

I would be interested in this capability too. I have a couple of applications where this would be helpful.

Chasing at 40mph for what five or six minutes....

take a look here : http://code.google.com/p/arducopter/wiki/AC2_FollowMe

I've not tested this flight mode.

You could use a RDF unit with 2-4 antennas.  It should be pretty easy to implement a system like this IF you have the payload capacity.

This is the only RDF system I've heard much about, but I'm sure there's others out there.  At $170 it's pretty cheap for what it does.
