JR XG6 radio setup for Multirotor

Hi all I purchased a JR XG6 TX-RX from a local vendor as an upgrade to my humble hobbyking 6ch Tx-Rx. I am having issues wrapping my head around this complex radio system despite going through the manual for the whole day.

I am using APM 2.6 with external GPS+Compass. I have plugged in the Rx in following fashion

APM input 1 - AILE on Rx (2nd pin from bottom)

APM input 2 - ELEV on Rx (3rd pin from bottom)

APM input 3 - THRO on Rx (1st pin from bottom)

APM input 4 - RUDD on Rx (4th pin from bottom)

------------------ GEAR on Rx (5th pin is free)

APM input 5 - AUX 1 on Rx (6th pin from bottom)

My problems

1. When I raise or lower throttle, in Mission planner I see the throttle increase and decrease but also PIT. channel  increases and decreases alongside. This PIT. increase decrease seems to alter flight modes settings.

2. No luck so far with Failsafe. When I switch off my transmitter the last received radio signal is constant. In my HK radio it would drop and I was able to trigger failsafe.

Can any one walk me through with this please? I spent the whole day trying to figure out but in vain.
