what size , shaped and thickness of aluminum tubes can make strong and light quadcopter frame.I am using hxt dt750 motors with 11*4.7 props and I am looking for simple ways to build light and strong quad frame using aluminum. My payload is approx 1kg ie battery+camera+electronics. If you have already made aluminum quad frames ,then do share your experience

Permalink Reply by Jordan on May 4, 2012 at 5:33pm get some 10mm square aluminum tube from your local hardware store. drill two holes at each end(for center hub and motors), get some sheet aluminum or CF drill some holes in it for the arms that from before, use some little hex bolts + nuts to hold the arms in. make sure everything is symmetrical.
