Hi, the v2.24 of Arduplane. is too large. to fit on the 1280. the latest version loaded. fromAPM Planner. is the v2.23.

Hi,

I use  Arducopter and I set all logging off and it fit in 1280, but I don't know if it is useful for you and I didn't try with Arduplane.

you can grab any historic revision from the source and compile it using the arduino ide. i have to admit that it would help if the revision number is noted in the release notes of each ardu software version. then it would be easier to work out which revision is required to re-create each build.

you don't need anything from national instruments as far as i know.  load arduino from arduino.cc. this link shows some bits from the apm programming guide but the other docs look out of date so don't get confused.

 

on windows

grab the apm code and the libs. put the libs in a folder under [your documents]\arduino\libraries. put the apm code in a new folder under [your documents]\arduino. make sure the new folder is the same name as the master .pde file. probably arducopter or arducoptermega.

open arduino, open the arducopter sketch, select the 1280 and hit compile. if it compiles you are ready to go

the national instruments stuff was for the old gcs for the ardupliot or original arducopter/aeroquad gcs. happy killmores gcs i think might still support the old format you should be able to use the newer mega stuff for plane and copter.

i don't know. as far as i am aware the latest code for the 2560 is the latest code for the 1280. the boards are the same except for memory capacity which shouldn't be too much of a problem. if the ardupilot code is too large then you can alter some #defines to reduce the size. for example disable loging and switch gps to the one that you are using
