Hi !

I hope someone here can help me with my MAVLink-OSD problem ...

Some days ago I bought an OSD like this one:

http://multicoptersystems.com/this-is-a-generic-mavlink-osd-v2-on-monitor-show-minimosd-for-aiop-apm-telemetry-atmega328p-from-multicoptersystems-com/

It labled with MAVLink-OSD on the back side and V2.0 at the front side.

After some trouble getting the firmware installed I got it basically working. So I can connect to the device using a USB/serial converter and configure the pages and the settings.

Then I tried to connect the video to the OSD. My basic setup is the following:

On the data side I connected GND to BLK, 5V to +5V and Tx to RxD. The three lines come from my APM 2.6 telemetry port. There is also a 433MHz radio connected.

At the video side I connected the camera to IN (plus GND Connection) and the Goggles to OUT (plus GND Connection). There is no 12V connected at the video side.

To get the Video part working I used the 5V fix presented here:

http://fpv-community.de/showthread.php?34709-NAZA-OSD-f%FCr-ca-20/page96

I should netion that there is no video radio installed. It´s a direct connection Camera -> OSD -> Goggle.

If I connect all together I got a fine camera picture in the goggles but there is no dato overlay from the OSD. If I disconnect the camera I got perfect OSD data - but of couse no picture.

The camera and the Goggle are powered from an external battery. But I think this is not the main problem.

Did anybody has an idea how I get my OSD working together with the camera picture?

Greetings from Germany

  • Ok, so some research has come to this...

Turns out it's a problem with sync levels on the camera output. There are OSD firmware patches to fix the sync issue, so I suggest you find an alternative firmware with that in or patch your own. I for now am simply going to try another camera to confirm this. Good luck.

  • Did you ever fix this? I am having the exact same issue.

I get a nice image from the camera with no overlaid text OR I unplug the camera and get a nice overlay page with no video.
