Hey all, I've been digging around and haven't been able to find anything covering this yet. I was hoping you guys may be able to help me out with my project.
I'm looking to build a dashcam for my car. Originally I was going to do it with an R-Pi, but I want more than just straight video - which it would handle quite easily. I'd like to have data from the car overlaid on-screen. By connecting to the OBD II port under the steering wheel, I can pull real-time speed, throttle, and other info onto an Arduino Uno that I have using existing libraries. My question is whether there is a way - with an Arduino Uno - to transmit the data in a usable way to the MinimOSD.
Has anyone on here done this before? Did I overlook the thread about it if so? If not, can anyone help me understand the format by which data is transmitted between the APM and the MinimOSD? I haven't yet figured it out simply by looking at the MinimOSD code.
