MinimOSD No GPS

Hi Guys

I have my MinimOSD flashed to 2.0 firmware and it is working, I can see characters. (not so clearly but i've reflashed firmware+charset multiple times so suspect either VTX or cam or goggles here)

When I switch the flight mode, I can see the flight mode changing on my OSD.

However, none of the GPS related measurements are showing.

No lock, 0 sats, and lat/long both show 0.

(altitude, home dist/angle etc are all zero or not showing)

The 3d-fix light on the board is solid blue, if I plug the USB in, it shows 3d-fix and shows my location.

I do not have the TX wire (minimosd side) connected to the APM2 so I have manually set ST3_Extra1 to 5 for the mavlink data frequency. I am adding a 3dr telemetry kit as soon as it arrives so as per instructions I did not connect that wire.

As an aside, i've attached a photo of my OSD in case it helps (you can also see what I am describing as unclear characters)

What is wrong?

  • Okay, figured it out.

The wiki says you only need to set sr3_extra_1 to be 5.

You also need to set some of the other sr3_ (eg. sr3_position) or you don't get GPS data.

This is in the wiki for the minimosd-extra but not for the arducam-osd

Still unsure about my weird rendering of characters (note the small vertical spaces)

Some of it is barely legible on the goggles, but I can for example read armed/disarmed pretty clearly.

Just to reiterate, I've made sure I power the board correctly when flashing the OSD charset
