Mission Planner on Linux

Hi, I'm trying to install Mission planner on Ubuntu 14.04 and not having much luck, I've followed the instructions on this thread: http://diydrones.com/profiles/blogs/apm-planner-2-0-rc2-on-raspberry-pi and had no luck at all, I cant get the first step done. 

I don't really want to be using linux, and have a laptop with windows 8 on however I can't seem to get the drivers to work at all, I get them 'successfully' installed but the computer doesn't seem to want to talk to my APM

    Go for APM planner, but should you need to run mission planner in Linux, then the required prerequisite are listed here: https://github.com/diydrones/MissionPlanner/blob/master/Readme.txt
    In both cases, "drives" will never be a problem.

    Mark, I think you're confusing APM Planner with Mission Planner. APM Planner is cross-platform and the Linux (and Mac and Windows) versions are here. The link you mentioned is for APM Planner, not Mission Planner.

    Mission Planner is Windows-only, although it can be run on Linux under Mono.

      Ah, yes I was.. thank you, hopefully this fixes my problems
