Mission Planner Options Missing?

I am just getting started with Mission Planner (2.0.10). I am trying to follow some tutorials that show right clicking and drawing a polygon on the flight plan screen. When I right click, I just get "go to here", and "point camera here" options.

I assume I am in some kind of flight mode. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Robin

  • I to downloaded APM Planner thinking "Cool! It works on my MAC!" but after installing, it really doesn't do anything as far a mission planning..   In the Flight Planning screen there is no way other then "go here" to plan a mission like in the older Mission Planner..  I'm sure it may be useful as a ground station to monitor the plane in flight..

What is the purpose of APM Planner? (other than confuse anyone who installs it).

Dennis, it does all the same mission planning at Mission Planner. Just double click on the map to create waypoints:

      • I see it now..    No survey grid or polygons?

I'm ok using 1.3.5 on a PC..  I have boot camp running on my MAC Book Pro so can boot into Windows :)

It sounds like you're actually using APM Planner, not Mission Planner. Mission Planner is currently 1.3.5.

You can download Mission Planner here

    • Can you do the grid function with APM planner? If so, how? I haven't really found any good resources for APM planner, and am considering making the (annoying) switch to Mission Planner using Parallels on my Mac. The functionality of APM Planner (2.0.1) seems either limited or un intuitive compared to Mission Planner.

    • You are exactly right. I thought they were on in the same. Thanks!
