Hi,

I am trying to do a HIL simulation with APM1, MissionPlanner-1.1.87 and FlightGear-1.9.1.

The MissionPlanner is able to receive the data sent by FlightGear. But FlightGear is not able to read the data sent by MissionPlanner. Message on the FlightGear terminal reads "Error Reading Data".

I followed the instructions for FlightGear HIL http://code.google.com/p/ardupilot-mega/wiki/FlightGear

What is the data protocol & version sent by APM mission planner to FlightGear. Is it possible to change the sending protocol/data format?

Any ideas how to solve this problem?

Thanks,

Mahesh M.

Can you post some screenshots of your settings in APM and flightgear?

i know for my gains on the full size plane i use roll and pitch gains of about 4.
nav roll gain of about 1
throttle cruise at about 60 %

and airspeed cruse at 35 m/s

this makes the big planes respond fairly well.

Thank you Richard, Michael

Problem Solved !!!

I noticed that in the long list of "Error Reading Data" on the FlightGear's terminal window there was a message of longer length occasionally scrolling by. I could read it after i took a screenshot to post online. The message read "generic protocol: binary mode input is not yet implemented".

I was using FlightGear version 1.9.1 which I use for SITL. I upgraded to FlightGear-2.0. Now FlightGear is able to read the data from APM Mission Planner correctly.

The setup also works with FlightGear-2.4 and FlightGear-2.6

Thanks for the help!
