Motor pulses once per second. Cannot find the problem.

Hi,

I'm new to Arduplane (lots of experience with ArduCopter) and built a Penguin with 60A ESC and 2815 motor as delivered by readymaderc. With an APM 2.5. The APM is powered by the ESC's BEC.

Installed the latest firmware and using the latest MP GCS software.

When I am in manual mode, on the bench, and add throttle, the motor pulses slightly at a rate of 1Hz (once per second). When I plug the ESC directly in to the APM, the problem is gone.

I tried to change timing on the ESC (options are Low (7°-22°) and High (22°-30°)) as well as change the switching frequency (options are 8kHz and 16kHz).

Any idea on how to solve this issue? I have done searches in the forum but could not find anything. I would expect the this hardware combination to have been used before.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks

AlexP

have you followed the procedure over from the online manual?

  • just recalibrate throttle. but do it for all the motors.

I don't understand what the difference is. I would expect an ESC to always be plugged directly to the APM.
