Folks, I'm considering doing some environmental research in Tanzania next year. Specifically, I'd like to do some survey flights on Mt Kilimanjaro which has an altitude of about 19,300'. So I'm wondering if anyone on this site has done any UAS work at high altitudes like this. Any thoughts?I've got a fixed wing (Aeromao Aeromapper) that is rated for just 4500'.Thanks!Dave

Gary,
Thanks for your reply. At this point, I'm just exploring the possibilities. As with national parks in the US, I was pretty sure that recreational use of UAS in TZ National Parks was not permitted. Thanks for confirming. But I'm hoping that we might be able to obtain clearance to use UAS for research. Obviously, I need to follow up on this. But as I do this, I'm hoping to connect with others who may have experience using UAS at high altitude on other mountains.

Yes and RPA are illegal in National Parks in TZ.
