Does anyone have any information on this board? I bought a couple to take the LEA-4T off - it's a long story but I need the phase measurements and the UBLOX 4 series is fine - but it occurs to me that I may be taking it off this board just to put it on a board with similar features. The problem is, I have no information on this board.
So, if you know anything about this board, I'd appreciate hearing what you think.

Permalink Reply by Anthony Wooldridge on May 16, 2011 at 1:02pm I have reverse engineered this board.
No need to take the unit off the board its a good useable board as it stands for serial i/o logic levels.
I have a fairly simple modification that will convert it to usb operation powered from usb.
A few track cuts and wire links and some tricky soldering.
Regards
Anthony

Permalink Reply by Anthony Wooldridge on June 4, 2011 at 1:30am I have a supply of these.
They are almost certainly the circuit board used in the evaluation kit but I can't say for sure.
In any case they are equivalent in function. I can supply pinout and equivalent circuit information with them. If you buy the basic board from me I can supply details how to do the usb modification.
everything you need is on the board, antenna short circuit protection, backup capacitor ( although you might want to put a supercap there instead), voltage regulator for the LEA-4T chip. supply decoupling etc
Permalink Reply by bruno schwander on June 19, 2012 at 4:04am I also got one of those boards, would you mind sharing the pinout of the header connector ?
I would also be interested in the USB modification, do you have any insturctions or photos on how the mod is performed ?
Thanks

Permalink Reply by Anthony Wooldridge on February 18, 2012 at 4:34am My board has an SMB male connector.
If you purchase through me I can supply unlimited assistance in reverse engineering, connecting to usb, setup commands RTKlib, best antennae, use of choke rings etc.
I can also supply the board modified to run direct off usb (signal plus power)
I can also supply the antenna, antenna cables and choke rings.

Anthony is a great source of information on these boards. With his help, I have put a couple on Sparkfun serial - USB cards. It kind of hurts my head to pull serial i/o off the board and convert it to USB when the board will do it without the card but I already had the cards and couldn't justify buying more.
FYI - the board works great and provides excellent RTK results.

What type of antenna are you using with your boards to get good RTK resuts?
Permalink Reply by W. D. Michael on March 22, 2012 at 7:24pm Sorry, Vast - didn't see this until now. I'm using GPS 53335 L1 antennae. Works great!
