Hey guys first I would like to say wow I didn't even know people made homemade UAV's it sounds awsome and I can't wait to see my own in the air. Now onto business I only just came into the area of R/C models so I am a complete noob atm. I was going to go with heli's but then I found this website and became totally engulfed in the idea. Now for my first attempt at a UAV I have decided to use the EasyStar as mentioned in . Since I have no experience with R/C's my first mission is to purchase the EasyStar and learn the basics to flying a R/C Plane. Once I have achieved this I will move onto the other components of a UAV. The help I am going to request from you guys is quite simple. I dont have much of a clue as to what parts exactly are required for my first UAV from wat I understand here are the links to what I need to purchase excluding the EasyStar (I have decided to go with the ArduPilot since Paprazzi was said to be hard to program):

That is all I need from what I understand I do realise I will need cables but I am not sure which ones basically I would like you guys to tell me if that is all I need and if I need more to list it the reason I want to know all this though is so I can evalute and estimate a cost so I do not jump into this project and get halfway before realising I do not have sufficient funds. Thanx for reading guys I hope you can help.

Hmm my links didnt work... can you guys just tell me what I need then cause I have no clue why and I have tried but they wont work : ( Thnx.

Oh important note I have no equipment so far so that to will need to be factored in. I really appreciate your help guys it means alot.
I was in a similar position not long ago, with NO R/C equipment at all.

This is a list of stuff that I bought to build a complete easystar setup with telemetry.

I'm still tuning it, but she flies good.

thnx for the file
zomg so much money.... was everything in that list absoloutly neccessary I dont exactly have a spare $700 USD lying around my house : (
When you think about it, this is a bargain considering the complexity of UAV systems... Just look what the military dishes out.

By buying one component kit at a time and learning the theory behind it, and then picking up a shield or OSD or upgrade IMU, etc., you give yourself time to learn to fly at the same time you learn the electronics and the programming.

Knowing how to fly your model first is a MUST!

Thinking you can buy an autopilot to fly a plane for you is nonsence!

You have to understand the forces that keep it in the air (hopefully) and when it comes time to adding the autopilot, you will know how to tune the PID settings and tweak the code to your specific plane.
Ok lets say I have the EasyStar lying around my house with the radio controller and all the components to fly it manually how much will it cost me from that point?
Hmm yes that is a good point Sgt but I think you have misunderstood me I don't want the plane to do tricks or fly for me I just love to see these types of things they amaze me how complex yet simple they are.
