I just finished building my first tricopter and have been trying everything I can to connect to upload and configure the firmware via Mission Planner 1.1.98. It times out and gives "No Heartbeat Packet Received" error. I'm able to connect to my APM1 and other APM2, but not the new APM2 w/UBlox. I've tried on two different computers with no luck. When trying to connect in Terminal, I see "Opened com port", but otherwise is non-responsive to any other input. Can I use Arduino software to "reflash" the firmware on the new APM2? Are there instructions on how to do so?

You shouldn't connect before you load the firmware. Load the firmware first. Then connect.

Thanks Chris. I had tried that a few times after trying to connect and kept getting an error message. Closed out of everything, re-opened MP, and successfully uploaded Tricopter firmware. Now I can connect and configure. THANK YOU for your quick response.
