Icaros Inc. (www.icaros.us) is a traditional and professional photogrammetric SW developer, now has a new offer to the UAV photogrammetric segment. We can produce high quality product with no GCP's, calibration or accurate external orientation.
You can become an Ortho producer yourself by purchasing Icaros IPS light suite, specially designed for high quality UAV production in an affordable price, or to use our cost effective “process as a service” to let our experts to produce a fast, quality product from your data set. You can Extract automatic DTM, DSM, 3D view, edit seamline and to do a QA to insure better quality map.
UAV's can now compete with traditional aerial survey. No more quality compromise.
Please Download a process report we recently did for a mavinci set of images- with no calibration! this was preformed in less than a day.

Permalink Reply by Eric Tweet on January 23, 2012 at 12:52am This is very interesting. I have a couple questions. First, how is it that this system with GPS precision of presumably 1-10 meters is capable of producing results comparable to a traditional system which uses centimetric GPS solutions in combination with INS data?
Also, does this software support the option of using ground control, if it is available to either improve the accuracy of GPS-derived products or replace the GPS component altogether?
I'm glad to see software like this start to emerge!
Cheers,
Eric

Hi Eric
Thanks for your reply.
The absolute precision will be determent of course on the quality of the GPS data you will produce.
Our SW will have the highest geometrical accuracy even with lower quality data since it doesn’t need external orientation in order to place the picture in place. it treats each picture as a standalone, finds tie points and then by very sophisticated bundle adjustment and AT it knows to correct the drifts and readings from the UAV.
you can see in the mavinci process report, how bad were the external orientation (6-7 degrees of nadir) but we managed to reach -/+5cm accuracy. (1.5 pixels)
We do have an option to include GCP's, and this will improve the accuracies of course, but we reach 1 meter RMS even with no GCP's.
Thanks
Avi

Just clicking around to dig to trial version...
Will try on this

Thanks for the interest
Which data set would you want us to try?
Also do you have GPS files? Calibration for this? Or other data?

Permalink Reply by David on January 23, 2012 at 2:49am I would be interested in a free trial. I sent you a friend request. Let me know how I can get started. Thanks

Hi David thanks
I accepted your request.
Are you interested more in the "process as a service" or to operate the light version yourself?
What we need to get started on the trial is to send us the data set you want to process.
I suggest to contact by mails.
I’m at avi@icaros.us
What yours?
Avi
