no power to Ardupilot

I've hooked up my new Ardupilot to my ESC and am not geting the power LED (or any others). While trouble shooting I was checking to see if I had power at the servo pins and accidentally shorted the power pin to the signal pin and the power light came on with the gps and stat light flashing.

It's late an I'm tired so I hope I just missed something simple. I any case advice is greatly appreciated.

  • Maybe its just better to leave it out altogether and let the end user do it. This aint exactly user friendly stuff anyway. When I do a jumper, I like to use a stand or two of copper. Use tweezers and then cut of the tail.
  • I have seen arduino(328p) power up from an input when I wanted them to be off and Vcc was not connected. Looks like you are getting power to the servo pins, but not the rest of the board. Until you caused the short. Use an extra servo connector or you will short out your power path. I have meter probes with the tip melted(not from batteries). Enough with the safety lecture. Check your solder jumper for the power input. Check the manual for pictures.
