Hi
I got all eight motors and ESC trying to build my X8 octocopter. I have four motors spinning counter clockwise and equiped with normal propellers and the other four motors spinning clockwise and equiped with pusher propellers or R propellers.
I have followed the directions as detailed in this page:
http://code.google.com/p/arducopter/wiki/AC2_Props_2
Now here is my dilemma looking at the schematic of the X8 on that page it seems like the motors on the bottom will cancel the thrust of the motors on top since the motors always push air down?

Permalink Reply by James on April 16, 2012 at 6:29am yep, as i see it the two motors that form a pair when on the bench will spin in the same direction - the difference being that the motor destined for the bottom of the arm will have the prop on upside down and when mounted upside down on the arm will spin contrary to the upper motor.
right?

Doing as you guys suggested and flipping the prop upside down didn't do anything as it still blew air down. However switching the normal propellers to the clockwise motor on the bottom made all the difference and ended blowing the air down.
The should update the website to include this information.
