Hello,

Hope someone can shed some light on why rate gyros are used instead of head lock gyros on the oilpan sensor board?

ok, as i might have guessed. Was toying with the idea that a head lock gyro was built differently; that they where fully analog devices (also the integration) and perhaps slightly more accurate.

More accurate = more $.  Also, we have tried to stay away from gyros which require orthogonal (daughterboard) mounting like the analog devices units.
