Hi

As I stared with my Tarot T-2D gimbal the fact that I had to unmount the whole camera to access my movies and pictures annoyed me because the camera sits very tight and it doesn't feel very good how much force it needs to get it out.

I found a very nice solution:

The flat cable is very flexible and makes it possible to have the card behind the gimbal so you can easily access your micro-sd card. It's the perfect solution together with a 5V BEC which charges your gopro while flying.

It can be found here: AliExpress

  • Nice, thats a pretty nifty bit of kit. I agree with it being really useful for the pixhawk as well. On my gimbal (T-2D) I can get the card out. not the easiest thing ever, but doable. What i have yet to figure out is how to charge it without taking it off.

  • This could be a great solution to access the CF card in my Pixhawk that's under the wings of the Skywalker. It's a pain to remove the wings to get the flight logs off the CF card between flights. I wonder if there is a safety risk. What would happen to the Pixhawk if the CF card contacts came loose while in flight. Would the Pixhawk lockup?
    • I used this kit from 3DR to remote the Pixhawk's microUSB plug.

      • That's to move the usb port the op is for relocating the micro sd card from the front.

Something I'm keen to do as my Pixhawk is buried inside my Discovery so getting to the card is a bit of a mare.

        • Ah, I just meant that since OP was looking to get the logs off the FC, it could be done by remoting the USB port instead of always removing the card. Alas, OP may wish to remote the card instead. P.S. I like this solution for the card in my Shield tablet. I ordered one from Nathaniel's ebay link; thanks. P.P.S. They also have microSD to full-size SD.

    • At least my Pixhawk worked fine with this adapter. I didn't try to remove it while it's operating. The lock mechanism looks very solid but of course, its one cable more who can break...

I like it! But I found it here on Ebay (also ships free from China) for less than half the cost.
