I've had my Phantom for 3 weeks now. I've been noticing that instead of holding steady when I'm not touching the controls it will circle in about a 15' diameter area. I also had it run away from me one day not long after take off. I crashed it and was able to find it. I had did a compass calibration before that. After the crash I tried it again and had no problems (after putting on new propellers - 2 were broken and I wasn't sure the other ones were okay).

Sounds like an effect called toilet bowling have a look about for that. I don't know anything about Phantoms I am afraid.
