Hello All,

Longtime listener, first time caller.

I have a brand new Pixhawk and I cannot get it to connect over USB or telemetry while the Arducopter firmware is loaded.

I had the system working once and during that session I configured it for a quadcopter setup using the Mission Planner wizard and also enabled joystick control. I have been having this problem ever since. Also, the large circular LED in the front does not illuminate.

The system works perfectly fine while Arduplane is loaded so I know that the telemetry, USB cable, Mission Planner, and USB driver are working.

I have attempted to reset the system through the Mission Planner CLI and re-installing the firmware as well as Mission Planner. I have also tried connecting over USB with and without battery power.

Does anyone out there have a similar story or any suggestions? I haven't run into any problems like this with APM so I'm at a loss. Any help, suggestions, or misplaced rage is greatly appreciated.

Thank you and stay classy,

Kevin

  • I saw a youtube video showing the same thing. The person on the video unplugged either the GPS or Compass and then the large LED would come on. I have a recently new Pixhawk and it is running ArduCopter 3.1.2 on a Hexacopter X frame on USB and Servo rail power with the GPS and Compass hooked up. The only different thing I did is load the firmware with APM 2.0 on a Macbook pro. I haven't rewired my telemtry radio yet, to work with the Pixhawk.

    • Hello Rob,

Thank you for your reply. I disconnected the GPS/Compass from the Pixhawk and the LED came on. In the process of reconnecting everything I found that there was a bad connection on the GPS port of the Pixhawk. Now everything appears to be working fine. Thanks again for your help.

      Sincerely,

      Kevin
