Hi guys. I just encountered a problem with the most recent update of MP 1.2.1 Mav 1.0 and AC 2.7 update. While trying to connect to establish a data link (USB) to APM2 board it either stops midway (or somewhere near the end) during connection or goes through but drops the connection immediately. Also, the 3DR radios no longer connect to each other (steady green but no more blinking red lights on both radios!). All I did was to update the system when MP told me that there are new updates. What happened?! Is the new update still not final? My system uses the Windows MP 64bit version.
Any help would be great!

Use Arduino to connect via a serial port. Let me know what the serial window prints out.

Apologies for the delayed response, as we are in different time zones. Unfortunately, I haven't gone into the gritty side with Arduino yet. But, will try. I do understand though that it is a communication problem and may be caused by the new MP update since the MP update crashes (Win7 64 says MP stopped working - possibly pointing to the Win NT update service stopping) but will still execute the MP 1.2.1 with the above symptoms.
Also tried resetting the APM2 board and reloading the Arducopter 2.7 firmware. Same problems.
I will try to return to the previous MP 1.2 and reflash APM2 with an older firmware if thats possible. Maybe also try another computer, though this one is dedicated just to my octo with no recent OS updates as far as I know.
Many thanks for the quick response and to all.

It looks like a serial rate (too high or buffer flush/overrun) problem with the new flashing. I checked the port parameters (port no. and baud rate) on my machine and they are correct. The MP 1.2.1 either connects momentarily to get an initial reading and then stops getting data (after I try initially flushing the port) and then stops getting data after a couple of bytes or the connection doesn't go through somewhere near the end if I retry connecting and don't flush the port.
My initial findings anyway. Will try other tests.
Thanks.

Newest upload of MP 1.2.1 does not contain the proper firmware of Arducopter 2.7.1 (since it is still a release candidate?). But it does now.
Also, was able to fix serial data dropping problem by resetting the APM2 board to factory default settings thru MP terminal and issuing setup command 'reset'. Pushing the reset button on the board does not solve this problem (dunno why).
Afterwards, upload AC 2.7.1 firmware, re-level, and do radio calibration again and upload or restore good or recent params file.
