Rob Lefebvre will be better at answering this but I think it's likely bad tuning. I imagine that it's a problem with the Rate Roll or Rate Pitch P and/or I terms. I know that the I terms for trad helis tend to be much bigger than on multicopters but I think the I terms are too big and the P terms are too small.

Can you post your full parameter list? Do you have any FF on your RLL, PIT, and YAW.
