Has anyone else had any problems connecting to your APM 2 after the update to the mission planner (1.2)?
On both Mav link (3dr 915mhz) and USB it starts to connect but about 2/3 of the way through it just hangs up and then Times out.

I'm not seeing an issue with ArduCopter (I'm using 2.7). What version are you using?
Permalink Reply by Mike Boland on July 25, 2012 at 8:05pm Yes, I have just updated to 2.7 on the APM1 board using Mission Planner and it hung on reconnect at RC8.
I did a reload of the firmware and it reconnected straight after then in about 30 seconds started reporting "No Data" and all input from the APM had stopped.
I disconnected the board (this was all using USB) and reconnected and now it is hanging on a different parameter.
So I disconnected the board and quit Mission Planner, reconnected the board and started Mission Planner again and it connected but immediately stopped sending data.
Help!

I've now tested with every board I have (a half dozen APM 1s and APM 2s) with ArduCopter 2.7 and MP 1.2 and can't replicate this. It's working fine with everything. I'm using Win 7 64-bit, FWIW.

I tried disconnecting the USB and connecting via the Xbee's and all is working fine.
I am able to read and write parameters and receive data, no problems.
While doing all this I had left the Xbee plugged into a USB port, so I have just tried unplugging the Xbee and reconnecting with the USB, and all is working fine.
It seems to not like the USB connection while the Xbee is plugged in.
So I tried plugging the Xbee back in and reconnecting over USB, everything worked.
So I tried connecting via Xbee while powered from USB, guess what, it all worked.
But now I find the camera gimbal goes haywire when I plug in a battery, and the new gimbal controls don't seem to work, and the servos no longer move with roll/tilt???

Mike,
There are some fairly significant changes to the Camera stuff in 2.7. We've basically imported the 3-axis gimbal support from ArduPlane. Longer-term it'll be super cool but for the moment, to get your camera working like it was in 2.6 you'll need to follow the instructions at the bottom of the AC_Camera wiki page (it involves setting about 8 parameters manually). The MP camera set-up screen is being worked on as well and that'll make the set-up easier as well.
By the way, there's a separate discussion related to the camera set-up issues in 2.7 here.

Using my telemetry radio it would just hang up. I went back to mission planner 1.199 1.0 on my desktop and now I can connect again, but not from my laptop that still has 1.2 on it. weird because it worked for awhile.

Will, what OS are you using on your laptop?
Permalink Reply by Will Snodgrass on July 25, 2012 at 9:12pm win 7 32. thanks for the help, but Ive tracked the problem to something unrelated ..... So 1.2 is working fine on my end :)

Now I'm curious! What did the problem turn out to be?
Permalink Reply by Will Snodgrass on July 25, 2012 at 9:22pm It was a bad servo actually. I unplugged everything and then started reconnecting things.......servo plugged in = lost connection (tested this quite a few times) new servo and now no problems.

Interesting. Stalling, leading to brownout?
