Second actual flight I've done with my finally finished quad, I get it up for a couple seconds, and then I lose control of it and it toilet bowls, breaking one of the arms.  I'm looking through the dataflash log but I can't figure out how to make sense out of any of this.  Half of the values are just flatlined and don't have any real data where they should (Such as barometer? GPS?).  Can anybody help out and tell me what went wrong?

The way it fell, my initial guess would be that an ESC went out, but on the way down I had tried to throttle up and it did absolutely nothing.  That's what leads me to believe something else may be at play.

CRate drops drastically at roughly 13383

The KMZ Shows it going into RTL mode at place of crash.

So far this looks to me like it misread the battery, went into failsafe (RTL) without the proper data to do so, and crashed as a result?

  • Looking at the motor speeds, Motor 2 has a sudden peak at that point and stays up.  I can't recall off the top of my head which motor was facing down at the time, but am I correct in thinking that:

If Motor 2 was facing down, the ESC went out and APM was trying to give it more power to compensate?

If Motor 2 was facing up, the APM for some reason gave that way too much power (but wouldn't it then raise the others to compensate?)

Also, The MODE attribute goes into an error RIGHT at that second.  Coincidence?

Throttle IN and Throttle OUT don't match up there either.  You can see where OUT was trying affected by the motor, and where I realized what was happening and brought IN up to attempt to compensate (to no avail),
