I am coming from the multi rotor apm world where channel 5 makes flight mode changing.

I have a 6 channels Futaba RC, channel 5 has only 2 positions

I have downloaded MP, installed Arduplane 2.78, calibrated radio just fine

It seems that Channel 8 is the one changing the modes on Ardupilot ?

Can you please advise about the EASY way to modify it back to channel 5 please ?

Through CLI, or through the ArdupilotConfig.xml ?

The hard way would be to modifiy //#define FLIGHT_MODE_CHANNEL 8

but i have no idea about how to compile files to change the APM defaults

It would be sooooo much easier to be able to change it through the Full Parameter List along with RCMAP_PITCH, RCMAP_ROLL...

Thank you

OK, found it... For the next people who would wonder, here you go :

MP => Full Parameters list => FLTMODE_CH => change from 8 to 5

I checked on the HUD, it works, but in the flight modes programming section, the flight mode 6 becomes greyed out, I do not know why.

  • Im not sure but it might be mandatory to have a fm=stablise. I always have one as stab so i cant confirm if this applies.

  • ... or simply plug the servo cable going out from the receiver on channel 5 to the channel 8 on the APM...
