My quad weighs 1450g, is currently running the standard 880kv motors on a 3S lipo pack. With 10x4.5 props I can get the quad to be completely stable, no oscillations at all, however motocalc and manual tests suggest that at hover throttle 12x4.5 props are a lot more efficient.
However with the 12x4.5 props I cannot get the machine to stop oscillating completly. I started to think that perhaps the motors were not responsive enough to deal with the larger prop size and for that reason alone, the problem could not be tuned out no matter how low i set my stabilize and rates.
I have a while ago ordered new batteries from hobbyking. 6000mah, 4s, 35C. They havent arrived yet... Will the 4S battery resolve this problem with using the 12x4.5 props, or does the patch mentioned above have a better chance?
10x4.5 Hovers at around 66% throttle, completely stable, but too high to make alt_hold not alt_hold.
12x4.5 Hover at around 50% throttle, Osclliations, alt hold perfect.
