Seekink advise and infos on Video recording

Hi all, I hope my post is in the good group.....

My experience about OSD is limited to the usage of MinimOSD from 3DR with a Gopro feeding a 5.8GHz 600mw Immersion RC Tx in order to transmit video over the ground. On the ground I use a Sony DV Cam DRV-38 for recording on tape... yes I know, on tape :(.... I'm looking for a device that would record video "on board".  I know GoPro record video on the SIM but you can't overlay OSD in the recording.  OSD overlay capturing is mandatory in my project.

The new SpyHawk FPV airframe use a sim card on board to record footage.  And far from me to advertise (since I'm not getting paid) that product... I do believe it looks very cool for someone who would like to feel the adventure of FPV.  Seems well design and the Video display on the Tx Box... wow... and the shade around it!! ... awsome design.

I'm waiting for Bruce to review it on RCModelReviews.

My project don't need HD quality. I would use a good quality very small and light camera that feeds the OSD and the OSD feeding a device that would record footage on a sim card.  I know... sorry about my english writing... but the Cam feeding the Osd is like "L'arbre est dans ses feuilles Marie lon lon lé..." sorry about that.  Small pourcentage will understand it.  But hey I promise, it is not PG13.

Basically no heavy GoPro, no TX video gear needed (since I don't need FPV).

Light weight recording on board.

Any tiny device exist already?  I did some Google but could not find anything... I know the SpyHawk have on, but I don't want to buy it just to hack it... FliteTest anyway already said... No. No. No.... you can't.

I have good experiences with Software and Electronics.

But I have Zero knowledge on Video signals and SIM card devices.  I'm old... sorry.

But!!! if the device don't exist on Spakfun, DigiKey, etc... my other question is... Can we build it?

on a breadboard??

Please forgive me with this long post.

But... I love this site,  thanks all for everything.  Special thanks for Chris.

Just to bad there are Zero unit in stock. Thanks for the link Wesley.

If you google it, there are other places selling it, and it's in stock.  Just be aware that most likely they'll be shipping from China and it'll take awhile to get here.

I know Wesley, I ordered the Bixler from china... But I'm not in a hurry.  To be honest what I would like us DIYer to achieve is simply to build this thing  In order to DIY oureselves... not sure if it make senses... Basicaly 'j'veux dire' Let's DIY it!  Distributors will make the $... and pesonally I don't give a junk.

ALL should take the chances to realise themselves.

It is the key. Point final.. for Hapiness..... How to achieve it?

Find a Hobby!

Wesley thanks to "pin point" devices already existing.

You lightening up my light regarding the subject.

I already sent friendship request, hope you will accept it.

Cheers and regards,

-Eric
