Hey there. I'm a writer for Gizmodo.com and am working on a series called "Where the Magic Happens." I have my heart set on finding someone in this community to feature. If you have a cool workshop or studio/garage where the AUV-building magic happens, please send some pictures my way!

The work plane is a NightEagle UAV, and other two are foamy's. Is it a job or is it a hobby I get paid for? It is so hard to tell the difference at times.

This is both my home office where I work out of when I'm not traveling for work and also my man cave where I working on many various projects. Ive build 3 UAVs to date using both arducopter and open pilot

Just about as clean as it's ever been.

Nice Octo camera platform!  Can you say more about what it is?

Sure, I'm flying a Cinestar 8 and a 6. Both running the MikroKopter platform with a 5.8ghz FPV set-up. I use a Graupner MX-20 with the octo and a JR X9503 with the hexa. Eventually, the JR will also operate the 360 gimbal on the octo...just waiting for a better solution for axis stabilization other than mounting another MK Flight Control board.

Using a slip ring for the gimbal?

Pretty sweet looking bird on the table too.

I'd love to see an air-flow model.... it would like a air version of a sand-worm.... er... an air-worm.

I just found this thread while I was in full geek mode working on my quad with APM2.  Its scary at this point.. but I clean up between projects.
