Id get a bigger battery (2200MAh) and a couple spares. Also a spare ESC, when I first started I smoked a couple ESCs just plugging them in and Im still not sure how that happened. I also recommend the Bixler/Sky Surfer APM chassis from the DIY Drones store. Even without an APM installed it gives a good place to mount the camera for pan/tilt.

Thanks! The selection of batteries is overwhelming. I have no idea what the various classification numbers/ letters mean except mAh. Example--Turnigy 3300 mAh 2s 30c or 2S1P 30 C etc etc. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks again, John.

3300 MAh is the capacity in mili-amp hours, the higher the number more energy it hold but also the bigger in size. 2S is the number of serial cells in the battery pack which decides the output voltage. 2S is 7.4 volts, 3S is 11.1 volts, and 4S are 14 volts, it goes up from there but those are the most common. 30C is the maximum discharge rate of the battery, 30C means it can discharge at 30X the capacity of the battery which would be 99 amps for this battery, higher discharge rate means it can provide more power to your motor at any given instant. 2S1P means 2 serial cells and 1 parallel cell. Most battery packs are 1P.

For the Bixler id recommend a 2200 MAh 3S 25-30C pack.
