Hello folks!
I've just purchased ardupilot mega v1.4 and arduIMU v2 flat. For now I've connected ardupilot to my own ftdi cable which based on ft232rl chip. Many of my projects were tested using that one. But for arduino I had to solder CTS and DTR wires and good to go....
I've flashed servo dance primer inside AP few times, after that I've tried to flash ardupilot mega 1.0Beta version but it said that something wrong with flashing eeprom. And after that I can't upload anything at all. When I use serial monitor - I see ardupilot CLI is there, but when I type, let's say, 'help' it echoes 'hAp' or 'hap', but not 'help'. Then I used codevision avr terminal program - works perfect - whats send thats received. Tried to run arduino on 2 systems - win7 x64 and win xp sp3. Any help greatly appreciated!
here is the errors that arduino gets:
avrdude: stk500_getsync(): not in sync: resp=0x00
avrdude: stk500_disable(): protocol error, expect=0x14, resp=0xfd
P.S. Yes, I did check 'set RTS line'

Hi YureZzZ,
Can you provide links to the products (the boards you have bought) which you are talking about, I do not follow the setup you are using.
Regards
Martin.

Hi YureZzZ,
I'm trying an FTDI cable to connect to APM 1.4 board. Although, the cable installs firmware to the APM, when I try to connect I get "No heartbeat ... " error in Mission Planner. I'm wondering, what do you mean by VCCIO pin connected to VCC? I'm worried whether I'm using the correct FTDI cable. I got it from https://www.sparkfun.com/products/9717
Thanks,
Ruwan
Just put Oilpan board on top of APM1.4 board and use USB cable to connect. Otherwise, why do you need APM board without sensors?

Oh, I forgot to mention that this is for HIL simulation.
Does your cable work with any other arduino board? There must be something wrong with it.
Here is the ftdi cable pinouts http://letsmakerobots.com/node/23728
And VCCIO is the pin of FTDI chip which I forgot to connect to VCC, so chip wouldn't start.
