I'm not sure what you mean by "started", but we fly often in that mode. It's fully supported in the current code, although you need a sonar sensor for the landing.
Sorry about that, I'm kinda new here. I'd like to ask, in what part of the code/library can we see the programming of the automatic take off and landing?

YOu do it with the mission planner.

I read from another thread that the Mission Planner is not applicable for the traditional heli function of the ArduCopter. Is this true? If it is, does the HappyKillMore's GCS has the capability to automatically make the take-off and landing of the traditional heli?

Yes, sorry, I meant arducopter.  Not traiditional helo. Never used traditional before..

the mission planner and HK_CSG can create scripts for take-offs and landings.,  But not with heli's,  Helis are kinda old school and not  very stable.

There is no one working or producing a groundstation of the trad heli?
Related to this topic, I would like to ask if anyone is currently working on creating a "Mission Planner" for traditional heli.

Is it possible for us to create our own automatic take-off and landing functions using the ArducopterNG codes only?

This the reason for the the new Arducopter code "AC2" .  Witch it doesn not support heli's,  Is to take the Arducopter from just a quad to totally  autonomous.    witch it's really close.  You should get a quadcopter. they = lots of fun.  :O)
