The latest IMU (for now)

Just come across the latest offering from ST Microelectronics - the STEVAL-MKI062V2 ,  defined as a 10-DOF (!!) IMU :

Digikey price is $262

Mouser price is £193

More info at  http://www.st.com/stonline/products/families/evaluation_boards/steval-mki062v2.htm?wt.mc_id=enews_aug10_inemov2

A bit too pricey for me I'm afraid - I'll stick with Ardupilot.

  • I didn't dig very far, but my first questions are:

    - how many bits on their ADC's?
    - what is their sampling rate?
    - do they have any sort of temperature calibration
    - just one pressure sensor? (Suitable for airspeed? altitude? both? neither?)

Depending on exactly where they come in on these things, it could be an interesting unit for the money?

Unfortunately, they chose to use their own gyros ;-)
