tlog files do not match the time of log file

I am trying to review my tlog file(s) from my first test flight. However, the time of the tlog files does not match with the dataflash log file (2016-02-05 10-43-23.log).

I only have 1 log file for todays date, but there are multiple tlog files all of which are dated later than the log file.

Is there anything I should be doing to get a matching telemetry log and dataflash log file?

  • Dates will not match. The Tlog filenames are generated at the time they are "recorded"  the .bin/.log file names are generated at the time you download them and do not display the actual date that is IN the log files. And yes it's a mess :)

    • From what I can see, my bin/log files have the date & time of when the files were initially created in flash memory on the Pixhawk, not downloaded to the PC.

It looks like the tlog files are only saved if a ground station is running during a flight. Since I don't use MP as a ground station, I will try to capture the file(s) from my Android phone using the Tower app and hopefully I will then be able to transfer them into MP for analysis/graphing.

      • if you are looking at the logs directly off the SD card then yes they are dated when "created" but when you download them via mavlink to the PC in mission planner they are dated at time you download them.

I "only" fly with mission planner running so that is why i get my Tlogs but tower may do it.
