Transmitter/receiver not working with crius v2

I just built a hexacopter with a crius v2. I am running megapirateng 3.1.5-R2 on the system and can connect to mission planner etc. no problem now. It reads the gps compass etc all those readings are good. The issue I have now is the receiver does not appear to be communicating with the board. The receiver and transmitter are bound together and I can run a servo motor on practically every channel. The setup is a turnigy 9x mode 2 radio and turnigy 9x8cv2 receiver. I have tried using the flash tool I think every which way I have tried to change the settings and resetting the radio countless times. I am so lost at this point I feel like throwing this thing in the trash and taking up knitting. When connected to mission planner and trying to do a calibration for the radio I cannot get the green bars to move at all no matter what switch I toggle or adjust etc. Someone please help....and thank you for any help you can give.
