i recently got a new computer now i cannot connect to the APM its asking me for A host name/ip i dont know what that is and then its asking for remote port can someone please help ?

What OS? I found the latest versions of MP screwed up my W7 USB drivers, somehow disconnected them. That may be why you don't see a COM port as a connect option (every time MP updated it would kill that option), sounds like you only have the TCP/UDP connect options. Since I don't know your OS, I can only go by my Win7 computer (no probs with my XP one). You need to install the USB driver: plug in your APM to a USB port and then go to the control panel for new hardware. Sorry I can't remember the details, but I didn't need to download etc. anything, the OS installed the correct driver immediately (since it was there before), think it was called ATMega2560 or similar...
