And nothing else. I cannot type anything and the buttons on top do nothing.

Did you try installing Arduino? Also, do you have the FTDI driver installed?

Permalink Reply by Mike Jacobs on May 22, 2011 at 3:04pm I had an upload problem when I mistakenly thought I had a 2560 board, when it was actually a 1280. Once I selected the right board type, upload started working.

Permalink Reply by John Bond on May 22, 2011 at 4:14pm The Mission Planner software communications quit working for me about a week ago (using W2K). Have you tried to update the software? There seems to be a newer version only available via live update. I checked with a Windows 7 machine. If the update check doesn't work, forget about the Mission Planner software for now. (Maybe you need a newer version of net framework or ...?)
I compiled and uploaded the code with Arduino and configured ACM with the CLI and HyperTerminal.
I'd try the Arduino route again and completely eliminate the Mission Planner software for now.
