UAS and Wild Land Fire Fire Traffic Area

I am a retired U.S. Marine helicopter pilot and now fly for the U.S. Forest Service as a contract pilot during the wild land fire season. As most of you are likely aware, we have had our share of incidents this summer in California with UASs within the Fire Traffic Area (FTA). The FTA is recognized airspace over a wild land fire, employed both before and during the FAA designation of the Temporary Flight Restriction airspace.

I am intrigued by UAS technology and worked very closely with UAS during two combat deployments to Iraq. The gist of starting this thread is more of education for UAS operators to emphasize the "why" of keeping the airspace around a wild land fire clear of non-participating aircraft. What is the best method of getting information disseminated before a mid-air occurs?

All positive feedback is appreciated.
