After reading a couple of successful posts about the Align APS GPS system, I downloaded their manual and see how it is connected.  Align still use their old 3Gx unit for stabilization, and using the new GPS unit just to provide navigation such as way points, landing, and take off.  I'm going to try the same with APM.

Since I'm super satisfy with the stability of the Skookum SK720 and I have a couple of them laying around, my plan is to put an APM in front of the SK720, and let the SK720 connects to the servos.  I'll have to go into the code to disable any stabilization code to get it to work.  What do you think?

Wesley,

I think Robert's changes to support H1 style swash plates (i.e. no ccpm mixing) will allow you to do this. Robert Lefebvre's the man with the real info I think.

Yeah, I would think this could be done easily.  But I'm really not sure I see the point.

The main problem with the APM is "leans", and frankly that problem will still rear it's ugly head because in stabilize, it will still command the Skookum to move when you don't want it.
