I have a large RC sailboat (a Victoria) that I am interested in making somewhat autonomous.
Looking at the tools and products available here it seems possible, and that some people have already gone far down this path. However, I have not seen any sensors designed to measure the apparent wind angle on the boat.
Perhaps I am just not seeing the solution, but I can't see how to automate a sailboat without knowing what the apparent wind is.
If anyone has any experience or ideas in this area, I'd love to hear them.
Thanks,
PM

I don't know how small they make directional anemometers and such. I do like the idea of auto piloted watercraft. That's just as scary as putting your pride and joy into the sky. Good luck!
