What ground control station do you use for your unmanned/autonomous ground vehicle?
What customizations have you made?
Reason I ask... I am contemplating a GCS for Data Bus my Sparkfun AVC entry. Been surveying what options exist. Just started playing with a couple. I'm hoping to find something that is -- or can be very easily -- tailored to ground vehicles.
Thanks,
Michael
Answering my own question... I ended up not using a GCS at all for the competition. But I did port MAVlink and used HK GCS for awhile. I'm working with another guy to develop a GCS and protocol better suited to rovers.

@Bot_Thoughts,
Sounds like a good idea to me. I will be glad to checkout anything that you develop once I get back to FL and my Traxxs E-Maxx rover.

Cool, will post updates!
My friend and I are looking to consolidate to a common MCU platform so that brings a pile of work to the table.
Code has to be ported (I wrote a lot, unfortunately) and developing peripheral driver libraries, and figuring out how to deal with the lack of UARTs -- I have a Serial to I2C bridge board in design.
Maybe it'd be smarter to extend/tailor the MAVlink protocol and contribute to that code base so that all the rovers could share common GCS solutions. Need to discuss that with my friend as far as how we want to proceed. My attempts with MAVlink had a lot of dropped comm even on a usb wire. So something was amiss there.
Anyway... we'll see how it plays out
