On my quad, I'm replacing my old motors and ESC with the "official" motors and ESCs. On my old ESCs, I cut the red voltage wire on three of the four ESCs so that only one was supplying power to the APM. On those three, I'm wondering if I can cut the black wire as well, leaving only the white. My hope was to remove the black and red wires entirely on those three ESCs to reduce cable clutter. Or do I need to leave the black wire in place?  (Just to clarify, I'm not using the official power distribution unit.)

Yes, I think you can. They all share the same ground from the battery side.

Great. Thanks. That's what I thought, and I had already cut one, and then I thought, "Uh oh, better check this." Thanks for the confirmation.

You can remove the red wire from connector and tape over, so it can be used in future for other plane etc.
